LINEAGE. Constituted 16th Combat Cargo Squadron on 9 June 1944. Activated on 13 June 1944. Inactivated on 29 December 1945. Disbanded on 8 October 1948

ASSIGNMENTS. 4th Combat Cargo Group, 13 June 1944; AAF, India-Burma Theater, 5 September 1945; 4th Combat Cargo Group, c. Oct-29 December 1945

STATIONS. Syracuse AAB, NY, 13 June 1944; Bowman Field, Ky, 16 August - 9 November 1944; Sylhet, India, 7 December 1944; Argartala, India, 26 December 1944; Chittagong, India, 31 January 1945; Namponmao, Burma, 11 June 1945; Ledo, India, 3 September 1945; Namponmao, Burma, Oct 1945; Ondal, India, November-29 Dec 1945 1945, and subsequently from Burma to China.

AIRCRAFT. C-47, 1944, C-46, 1944 - 1945

SERVICE STREAMERS. None.

CAMPAIGNS. India-Burma; Central Burma; China Offensive.

DECORATIONS. None.

EMBLEM. Over and through a light blue disc, border red, piped white, a caricatured brown vulture, proper, resting on small white cloud formation and smoking a cigar, while wearing a radio head set and dropping a large package held by the string in claws of right foot, and tipping a like package off of the edge of the cloud formation with the tip of the left wing. (Approved 23 Aug 1944)

  I am looking for former members of the 3rd Combat Cargo Group,  1st, Combat Cargo Group, 2nd Combat Cargo Group and the 4th Combat Cargo Group.  In fact I would like to hear from anyone who flew over the Hump during WW II, or flew any Combat Cargo Missions at any time (Berlin Air-Lift, Korea, etc)
