Apr. 25, 1944. Activated on May 1, 1944. Inactivated on Jan. 15, 1946.
Disbanded Oct. 8, 1948 Assignments: 2nd Combat Cargo Group, May 1, 1944-Jan 15, 1946 Stations: Syracuse, AAB, NY, May 1, 1944; Baer Field, Ind., Oct 8-27 1944; Biak, Nov 1944 (operated from Samar through Mar. 25, 1945); Dulag, Leyte Mar. 26, 1945; Okinawa, Aug. 16, 1945; Yokota, Japan, Sept. 1945-Jan 15, 1946. Aircraft: C-47, 1944, 1945; C-46, 1944-1945 Operations: Aerial transportation in Southwest and Western Pacific, Nov. 1944-Sept. 1945. Service Streamers: None Campaigns: Air Offensive, Japan; New Guinea, Western Pacific; Leyte; Luzon; Southern Philippines, Ryukyus. Decorations: Philippine Presidential Unit Citation. Emblem: Over and through a disc per fesse debased, arched, medium blue and green, border red, piped white, a caricatured white elephant, winged yellow-orange, in flight, with six red stars in orle on forehead, carrying a stretcher roll in trunk and field cannon proper with a red and green box strapped on back by a red belt around waist, all above a yellow, red and white parachute in base, dexter base and sinister base respectively.
