Imphal, The Hump and Beyond
U.S.A.A.F. Combat Cargo Groups of the Second World War
1st Combat Cargo Group, 4th Combat Cargo Squadron
Introduction
S/Sgt. Herbert 'Pat' Patton
| Hi Bill: My name is Herb Patton and I was a member of the 4th Combat Cargo Squadron during WW2. I was sitting here, surfing the web, looking to see if I could find anything about Combat Cargo in the CBI (The Forgotten War) and just about jumped for joy when I came across your page. The 4th holds reunions every year, but I had not heard about this until several years ago, when I attended one in Orlando FL. We have a quarterly paper The Round up News, where we sort of cover the reunions, obituaries, and general news and pictures. I have a few photos of from that era and have written several articles for our news letter and I would be glad to share some of them with you. Also, if you have any stories, photos etc, I would appreciate seeing them. I am happy to you see you have a computer, that will make it so much easier to keep in touch. I have not found any of our members who have a computer. I might add that I am originally from Penn. but have not lived there for a long time. I now reside in Tenn. along with my wife of 47 years. I was a radio operator and while the Hump was not one of our regular runs, I have been over it a few times. I will wait with anticipation hear from and hope we can become acquainted. Herb |
